那時你們在過犯和罪惡中行事為人，隨著時代的潮流，也服從空中掌權的首領，就是現今在悖逆的人身上運行的靈。

就在那時候，有幾個在那裡的人，把加利利人的事告訴耶穌，就是彼拉多把他們的血和他們的祭物攙在一起的事。他回答：“你們以為這些加利利人比其他的加利利人更有罪，才這樣受害嗎？不是的，我告訴你們，你們若不悔改，都要這樣滅亡。你們以為從前西羅亞樓倒塌的時候，壓死的那十八個人，比一切在耶路撒冷的居民更有罪嗎？不是的，我告訴你們，你們若不悔改，也都要這樣滅亡。”

到那時，必有話對這人民和耶路撒冷說：“有一陣熱風從曠野光禿的高岡，颳向我的子民（“我的子民”原文作“我子民的女子”），不是為簸散，也不是為揚淨；這過強的風要為我颳來，我就要向他們宣告我的判詞。”

他們的父親雅各對他們說：“你們總是使我喪失兒子：約瑟沒有了，西緬也沒有了，你們還要把便雅憫帶走；每一件事都是針對我。”

王悲慟得全身發抖，就上城樓去哀哭。他一面走一面這樣說：“我兒押沙龍啊！我兒，我兒押沙龍啊！但願我替你死。押沙龍啊！我兒，我兒啊！”（本節在《馬索拉文本》為19:1）

雨淋、水沖、風吹，搖撼那房子，房子就倒塌了，並且倒塌得很厲害。”

然後參孫說：“讓我與非利士人同歸於盡吧！”於是盡力屈身，房子就倒塌，壓在眾領袖和房子裡所有的人身上。這樣，參孫死的時候殺死的人，比他活著的時候殺死的人還多。
