“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus,“ but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

“ It isn’t because this man sinned,” said Jesus.“ It isn’t because his parents sinned. He was born blind so that God’s power could be shown by what’s going to happen.

Jesus answered,“ It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.

“ It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered.“ This happened so the power of God could be seen in him.

“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” Jesus answered.“ This came about so that God’s works might be displayed in him.

耶穌聽了就說：「這病不至於死，而是為了神的榮耀，好使神的兒子由此得榮耀。」

官長們又威嚇他們一番，為了民眾的緣故把他們釋放了。官長們找不出任何理由來懲罰他們，因為眾人都為所發生的事不住地榮耀神。

就是：瞎眼的得以看見，瘸腿的行走，痲瘋病人被潔淨，耳聾的聽見，死人得以復活，窮人得以聽到福音。

耶穌回答他們，說：「你們以為這些加利利人如此受害，是因為他們比其他所有加利利人更有罪嗎？不是的。我告訴你們：你們如果不悔改，都會同樣地滅亡。或者，西羅亞樓倒塌壓死的那十八個人，你們以為他們比所有住在耶路撒冷的人更有罪嗎？不是的。我告訴你們：你們如果不悔改，都會同樣滅亡。」

那些土人一看見那毒蛇懸在他的手上，就彼此說：「這個人一定是個殺人犯！雖然從海裡獲救了，但天理還是不讓他活著。」

因此我把這一切放在心上，為要察驗這些事：義人、智慧人和他們所做的都在神的手中；那將臨到他們的一切，無論是愛是恨，沒有人知道。每個人的命運都是一樣的：義人與惡人，好人與壞人，潔淨的與不潔淨的，獻祭的與不獻祭的都有一樣的命運。好人怎樣，罪人也怎樣；起誓的怎樣，怕起誓的也怎樣。

你們當相信我：我在父裡面，父也在我裡面。即使不信，也當因我所做的事而相信。「我確確實實地告訴你們：我所做的事，信我的人也要做，而且要做比這些更大的事。這是因為我就要到父那裡去了。你們奉我的名無論求什麼，我將行這事，好使父藉著子得榮耀。

耶穌對她說：「我不是對你說過，你如果信，就會看見神的榮耀嗎？」
