We know that God spoke to Moses. But we don’t even know where this fellow comes from.”

Jesus answered,“ Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going.

He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself.For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.“ Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future.

He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:

Some of the Pharisees said,“ This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others asked,“ How can a sinner perform such signs?” So they were divided.

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel.

And they began to accuse him, saying,“ We have found this man subverting our nation. He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar and claims to be Messiah, a king.”

and declared,“ This fellow said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

He sent Moses his servant, and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the Lord.

But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.

Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,

But when the Pharisees heard this, they said,“ It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”

and say,‘ This is what the king says: Put this fellow in prison and give him nothing but bread and water until I return safely.’”

“ This is the same Moses they had rejected with the words,‘ Who made you ruler and judge?’ He was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.

When Jehu went out to his fellow officers, one of them asked him,“ Is everything all right? Why did this maniac come to you?”“ You know the man and the sort of things he says,” Jehu replied.

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.”

The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they raised their voices and shouted,“ Rid the earth of him! He’s not fit to live!”

A second time they summoned the man who had been blind.“ Give glory to God by telling the truth,” they said.“ We know this man is a sinner.”

Others said,“ He is the Messiah.” Still others asked,“ How can the Messiah come from Galilee?Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?”

But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen—

“ Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked.“ Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this.( Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam,“ Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out.Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward,he said,“ Listen to my words:“ When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.

Then Moses said,“ This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea:
