They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said,“ All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer everyone.

“ Do not judge so that you will not be judged.For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive.Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to see the beam of wood in your own?Or how can you say to your brother,‘ Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while there is a beam in your own?You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

therefore you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law dishonor God by transgressing the law!For just as it is written,“ the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”For circumcision has its value if you practice the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

Therefore you are without excuse, whoever you are, when you judge someone else. For on whatever grounds you judge another, you condemn yourself, because you who judge practice the same things.Now we know that God’s judgment is in accordance with truth against those who practice such things.And do you think, whoever you are, when you judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself, that you will escape God’s judgment?

At the testimony of two or three witnesses they must be executed. They cannot be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.The witnesses must be first to begin the execution, and then all the people are to join in afterward. In this way you will purge evil from among you.

“ Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside they are full of greed and self- indulgence.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside may become clean too!“ Woe to you, experts in the law and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs that look beautiful on the outside but inside are full of the bones of the dead and of everything unclean.In the same way, on the outside you look righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Therefore, repent! If not, I will come against you quickly and make war against those people with the sword of my mouth.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double- edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.

God says this to the evildoer:“ How can you declare my commands, and talk about my covenant?For you hate instruction and reject my words.When you see a thief, you join him; you associate with men who are unfaithful to their wives.You do damage with words, and use your tongue to deceive.You plot against your brother; you slander your own brother.

Do not answer a fool according to his folly, lest you yourself also be like him.Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own estimation.

He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double- edged sword extended out of his mouth. His face shone like the sun shining at full strength.

From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All- Powerful.

The officers replied,“ No one ever spoke like this man!”

My message is like a fire that purges dross! It is like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces! I, the LORD, so affirm it!

Speaking recklessly is like the thrusts of a sword, but the words of the wise bring healing.

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or uninformed person enters, he will be convicted by all, he will be called to account by all.The secrets of his heart are disclosed, and in this way he will fall down with his face to the ground and worship God, declaring,“ God is really among you.”
