Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.

“ Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged.For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye?Or how can you say to your brother,‘ Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye?Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye.

you then, who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach,“ You must not steal”— do you steal?You who say,“ You must not commit adultery”— do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?For, as it is written: The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.Circumcision benefits you if you observe the law, but if you are a lawbreaker, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

Therefore, every one of you who judges is without excuse. For when you judge another, you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the same things.Now we know that God’s judgment on those who do such things is based on the truth.Do you think— anyone of you who judges those who do such things yet do the same— that you will escape God’s judgment?

The one condemned to die is to be executed on the testimony of two or three witnesses. No one is to be executed on the testimony of a single witness.The witnesses’ hands are to be the first in putting him to death, and after that, the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from you.

“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside of it may also become clean.“ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of the bones of the dead and every kind of impurity.In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

So repent! Otherwise, I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.No creature is hidden from him, but all things are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.

But God says to the wicked:“ What right do you have to recite my statutes and to take my covenant on your lips?You hate instruction and fling my words behind you.When you see a thief, you make friends with him, and you associate with adulterers.You unleash your mouth for evil and harness your tongue for deceit.You sit, maligning your brother, slandering your mother’s son.

Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishness or you’ll be like him yourself.Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.

He had seven stars in his right hand; a sharp double-edged sword came from his mouth, and his face was shining like the sun at full strength.

A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.

The servants answered,“ No man ever spoke like this!”

“ Is not my word like fire”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and like a hammer that pulverizes rock?

There is one who speaks rashly, like a piercing sword; but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

But if all are prophesying and some unbeliever or outsider comes in, he is convicted by all and is called to account by all.The secrets of his heart will be revealed, and as a result he will fall facedown and worship God, proclaiming,“ God is really among you.”
