門徒們說：「拉比，近來猶太人想用石頭砸死你，你還再到那裡去嗎？」

於是他們又試圖抓耶穌，他卻從他們的手中脫離出來。耶穌又前往約旦河對岸，到約翰當初施洗的地方，住在那裡。

我與父是一體的。」猶太人又拿起石頭要砸死他。耶穌對他們說：「我把很多從父而來的美好之事顯給你們看了，你們是為哪一件要用石頭砸死我呢？」他們回答：「我們不會為了什麼美好之事用石頭砸死你，而是為了你說褻瀆的話！因為你不過是人，竟然把自己當做神！」

那時他們的眼睛就開了，這才認出他來，而耶穌從他們眼前消失了。

摩西在律法上吩咐我們用石頭砸死這樣的女人，既然如此，你怎麼說呢？」他們說這話是要試探耶穌，為要找把柄來控告他。耶穌卻彎下腰，開始用指頭在地上寫字。

彼拉多對他們說：「你們自己把他帶走，按照你們的律法審判他吧。」那些猶太人回答說：「我們不可以處死人。」

他們又擊打屋門口的那些人，使他們無論老少都眼目失明，以致他們找不到門。

你們要趁著有光的時候信這光，好使你們成為光明的兒女。」耶穌說了這些話，就離開他們被隱藏了。

他們從水裡上來的時候，主的靈把腓利提走，太監再也看不見他了。太監繼續趕路，滿心快樂。後來，腓利出現在阿佐托。他走遍各個城鎮傳揚福音，直到他來到凱撒里亞。

那得了痊癒的人並不知道他是誰，因為那裡有一群人，而耶穌已經抽身離去了。

他們就起來把耶穌趕出城外，拉到山崖上，要把他推下去。他們的城是建在山上的。但耶穌從他們中間穿過去，走開了。

於是他們大聲喊叫，摀著耳朵，一齊向他衝過去，

因此，耶穌不再公開地在猶太人當中行事，而是離開那裡，到曠野附近的地方，進了一個叫以法蓮的城，在那裡與門徒們住下了。
