Jesus told them,“ These claims are valid even though I make them about myself. For I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know this about me.

Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.

Yes, I came from the Father into the world, and now I will leave the world and return to the Father.”

Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.

Jesus told them,“ If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me.

You have made me act like a fool. You ought to be writing commendations for me, for I am not at all inferior to these“ super apostles,” even though I am nothing at all.

( Now Moses was very humble— more humble than any other person on earth.)

Perhaps you think we’re saying these things just to defend ourselves. No, we tell you this as Christ’s servants, and with God as our witness. Everything we do, dear friends, is to strengthen you.

just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.

“ Write this letter to the angel of the church in Laodicea. This is the message from the one who is the Amen— the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s new creation:

for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.

why do you call it blasphemy when I say,‘ I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world.

We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.”“ Why, that’s very strange!” the man replied.“ He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from?

God, the Father of our Lord Jesus, who is worthy of eternal praise, knows I am not lying.

But how could he be? For we know where this man comes from. When the Messiah comes, he will simply appear; no one will know where he comes from.”While Jesus was teaching in the Temple, he called out,“ Yes, you know me, and you know where I come from. But I’m not here on my own. The one who sent me is true, and you don’t know him.But I know him because I come from him, and he sent me to you.”

For the entire twelve years that I was governor of Judah— from the twentieth year to the thirty second year of the reign of King Artaxerxes— neither I nor my officials drew on our official food allowance.The former governors, in contrast, had laid heavy burdens on the people, demanding a daily ration of food and wine, besides forty pieces of silver. Even their assistants took advantage of the people. But because I feared God, I did not act that way.I also devoted myself to working on the wall and refused to acquire any land. And I required all my servants to spend time working on the wall.I asked for nothing, even though I regularly fed 150 Jewish officials at my table, besides all the visitors from other lands!The provisions I paid for each day included one ox, six choice sheep or goats, and a large number of poultry. And every ten days we needed a large supply of all kinds of wine. Yet I refused to claim the governor’s food allowance because the people already carried a heavy burden.Remember, O my God, all that I have done for these people, and bless me for it.
