凡有為者、不宜幽居潛處、必欲有以自彰。爾既有此異能、盍亦自顯於世乎？』

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

耶穌答曰、我顯然講道於世、常教誨在會堂、及聖殿、猶太人恆集之所、我並無言於隱者、

其行事故欲使人見、闊其經匣、長其衣繸、

與眾俱異者、惟縱己欲、所行衝冒、違諸善謀、愚者不喜達道、惟喜顯露己意、

爾祈禱時、勿似偽善者、喜立於會堂及街衢而祈禱、故令人見、我誠告爾、彼已得其賞、

善人由心所積之善發善、惡人由心所積之惡發惡、蓋充諸心者言諸口也、

慎勿於人前施濟、故令人見、若然、則不獲爾天父之賞、故施濟時、勿吹角於爾前、似偽善者、於會堂街衢所為、求譽於人、我誠告爾、彼已得其賞、

曰、爾若天主之子、可自投下、蓋經載云、主為爾命其使者、必以手扶爾、免爾足觸石、

往召米該雅之使者、謂米該雅曰、眾先知之言、如出一口、皆以吉言告王、不如爾言與彼無異、亦告以吉言、

眾遂滿於聖神、能言各國方言、隨聖神所賜以言者、時有虔敬之猶太人、自天下各國而來、寓耶路撒冷、此聲一作、眾集、聞門徒言眾人各處方言、甚駭異、驚奇相語曰、言者非皆迦利利人乎、乃聞其言、竟我各人本土之方言、何也、我儕帕提亞人、米弟亞人、以攔人、居米所波大米、猶太、加帕多嘉、本都、亞西亞、弗呂嘉、旁非利亞、伊及、並附近古利奈之呂彼亞、諸方之人、來自羅瑪之旅人、或猶太人、或入猶太教者、基利提人、與亞拉伯人、咸聽其以我各處方言、述天主之大用、於是眾驚訝猶豫、互問曰、此何意、

爾禁食禁食或作守齋下同時、毋作憂容、似偽善者、彼變顏色、為示人以己之禁食、我誠告爾、彼已得其賞、
