众人就回答他：“我们听见律法书上说，基督是永存的；你怎么说，人子必须被举起来呢？这人子是谁呢？”

然而，属血气的人不接受神的灵的事，他反倒以这为愚拙，并且他不能了解，因为这些事惟有属灵的人才能领悟。

犹太人因为耶稣说“我是从天上降下来的粮”，就私下议论他，

有几个门徒彼此说：“他对我们说‘不久，你们将不再见到我；再过不久，你们还要见到我’；又说‘因我到父那里去’。这是什么意思呢？”于是门徒说：“他说‘不久’到底是什么意思呢？我们不明白他说什么。”

他的门徒中有好些人听见了，就说：“这话很难，谁听得进呢？”
