Then Jesus said to them again,“ I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.”So the Jews said,“ Will He kill Himself, because He says,‘ Where I go you cannot come’?”And He said to them,“ You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say,‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

Then He said to the disciples,“ The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.And they will say to you,‘ Look here!’ or‘ Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.

“ Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded,Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke,I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes,When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.“ Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord,They would have none of my counsel And despised my every rebuke.Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way, And be filled to the full with their own fancies.

Little children, I shall be with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews,‘ Where I am going, you cannot come,’ so now I say to you.A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”Simon Peter said to Him,“ Lord, where are You going?” Jesus answered him,“ Where I am going you cannot follow Me now, but you shall follow Me afterward.”

“ With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the Lord, But they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

“ Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying,‘ Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you,‘ I do not know you, where you are from,’

Jesus said to him,“ I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
