Hasn’t Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law! Why do you want to kill me?”

摩西非以律授爾乎、第爾中無一行律者、何為欲殺我耶、

摩西豈不以律法授爾、第爾曹無一遵者、不然、何為欲殺我、

摩西豈不以律法授爾乎、但爾曹中無人守律法、何為欲殺我、

且摩西不曾授爾以法乎？而爾中竟無一人守法也。

Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

Didn’t Moses give you the law? But not one of you obeys the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

Moses gave you the law, but none of you obeys it! In fact, you are trying to kill me.”

“ Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?”

Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”

Didn’t Moses give you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law! Why do you want to kill Me?”

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

So from that day they planned together to kill him.

After this Jesus traveled throughout Galilee. He stayed out of Judea because the Jewish leaders wanted to kill him.

For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh.

But the Pharisees went out and plotted against him, as to how they could assassinate him.

Moses delivered to us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.

Moses alone may come near the LORD, but the others must not come near, nor may the people go up with him.”Moses came and told the people all the LORD’s words and all the decisions. All the people answered together,“ We are willing to do all the words that the LORD has said,”

They must not discriminate in judgment, but hear the lowly and the great alike. Nor should they be intimidated by human beings, for judgment belongs to God. If the matter being adjudicated is too difficult for them, they should bring it before me for a hearing.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and get his inheritance!’

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast of your relationship to Godand know his will and approve the superior things because you receive instruction from the law,and if you are convinced that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,an educator of the senseless, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the essential features of knowledge and of the truth–therefore you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law dishonor God by transgressing the law!For just as it is written,“ the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”For circumcision has its value if you practice the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.Therefore if the uncircumcised man obeys the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?And will not the physically uncircumcised man who keeps the law judge you who, despite the written code and circumcision, transgress the law?For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision something that is outward in the flesh,but someone is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart by the Spirit and not by the written code. This person’s praise is not from people but from God.

Then they attempted again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches.

Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the descendant to whom the promise had been made. It was administered through angels by an intermediary.

So the Pharisees went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, as to how they could assassinate him.

They heaped insults on him, saying,“ You are his disciple! We are disciples of Moses!We know that God has spoken to Moses! We do not know where this man comes from!”

Then some of the residents of Jerusalem began to say,“ Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?

Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began persecuting him.

For all who have sinned apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous.

For this reason the Jewish leaders were trying even harder to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was also calling God his own Father, thus making himself equal with God.

The Jewish leaders picked up rocks again to stone him to death.Jesus said to them,“ I have shown you many good deeds from the Father. For which one of them are you going to stone me?”

just as it is written:“ There is no one righteous, not even one,there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.”“ Their throats are open graves, they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.”“ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”“ Their feet are swift to shed blood,ruin and misery are in their paths,and the way of peace they have not known.”“ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.For no one is declared righteous before him by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.But now apart from the law the righteousness of God( which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed–namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction,for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

“ The experts in the law and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach.They tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing even to lift a finger to move them.

“ Do not suppose that I will accuse you before the Father. The one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope.

For he has come to deserve greater glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house deserves greater honor than the house itself!For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that would be spoken.

This is the man who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our ancestors, and he received living oracles to give to you.

Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?” But they were silent.

Why do the nations rebel? Why are the countries devising plots that will fail?The kings of the earth form a united front; the rulers collaborate against the LORD and his anointed king.They say,“ Let’s tear off the shackles they’ve put on us! Let’s free ourselves from their ropes!”The one enthroned in heaven laughs in disgust; the Lord taunts them.Then he angrily speaks to them and terrifies them in his rage, saying,“ I myself have installed my king on Zion, my holy hill.”
