摩西非以律授爾乎、第爾中無一行律者、何為欲殺我耶、

摩西豈不以律法授爾、第爾曹無一遵者、不然、何為欲殺我、

摩西豈不以律法授爾乎、但爾曹中無人守律法、何為欲殺我、

且摩西不曾授爾以法乎？而爾中竟無一人守法也。

Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

Didn’t Moses give you the law? But not one of you obeys the law. Why are you trying to kill me?”

Moses gave you the law, but none of you obeys it! In fact, you are trying to kill me.”

“ Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?”

Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me?

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

So from that day on they made plans to put him to death.

After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.

For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

But the Pharisees went out and conspired against him, how to destroy him.

when Moses commanded us a law, as a possession for the assembly of Jacob.

Moses alone shall come near to the Lord, but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.”Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and all the rules. And all the people answered with one voice and said,“ All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.”

You shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for the judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall bring to me, and I will hear it.’

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in Godand know his will and approve what is excellent, because you are instructed from the law;and if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth—you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal?You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law dishonor God by breaking the law.For, as it is written,“ The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”For circumcision indeed is of value if you obey the law, but if you break the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.So, if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?Then he who is physically uncircumcised but keeps the law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but break the law.For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.

Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.

The Pharisees went out and immediately held counsel with the Herodians against him, how to destroy him.

And they reviled him, saying,“ You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from.”

Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said,“ Is not this the man whom they seek to kill?

And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath.

For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.

This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.Jesus answered them,“ I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?”

as it is written:“ None is righteous, no, not one;no one understands; no one seeks for God.All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”“ Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive.”“ The venom of asps is under their lips.”“ Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”“ Their feet are swift to shed blood;in their paths are ruin and misery,and the way of peace they have not known.”“ There is no fear of God before their eyes.”Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction:for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

“ The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat,so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope.

For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses— as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.( For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.)Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,

This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. He received living oracles to give to us.

And he said to them,“ Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?” But they were silent.

Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his Anointed, saying,“ Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us.”He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying,“ As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
