The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

Whoever speaks on their own does it to get personal honor. But someone who works for the honor of the one who sent him is truthful. Nothing about him is false.

Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies— in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven:“ I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

When he had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them, in order that I may make a great nation of you.”But Moses implored the Lord his God and said,“ O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ With evil intent did he bring them out, to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your burning anger and relent from this disaster against your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them,‘ I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have promised I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ.

Jesus answered,“ If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say,‘ He is our God.’

But Moses said to him,“ Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”

I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

It is not good to eat much honey, nor is it glorious to seek one’s own glory.
