夫畀生命者神也、而肉身無益焉。予所授爾之道、神也、生也。

Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him.

Jesus answered them,“ Did I Myself not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.”Now He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot; for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray Him.

Jesus* said to him,“ He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet; otherwise he is completely clean. And you are clean— but not all of you.”For He knew the one who was betraying Him; it was for this reason that He said,“ Not all of you are clean.”

But Jesus, on His part, was not entrusting Himself to them, because He knew all people,and because He did not need anyone to testify about mankind, for He Himself knew what was in mankind.

Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are His;” and,“ Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to keep away from wickedness.”

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters;

You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thought from far away.You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all.

But Jesus, aware that His disciples were complaining about this, said to them,“ Is this offensive to you?

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom we must answer.

but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

Says the Lord, who makes these things known from long ago.

As a result of this many of His disciples left, and would no longer walk with Him.

But I said to you that you have indeed seen Me, and yet you do not believe.

I am not speaking about all of you. I know the ones whom I have chosen; but this is happening so that the Scripture may be fulfilled,‘ He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am He.Truly, truly I say to you, the one who receives anyone I send, receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”When Jesus had said these things, He became troubled in spirit, and testified and said,“ Truly, truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me.”

and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him. And if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you; but I do know Him, and I follow His word.

I speak of the things which I have seen with My Father; therefore you also do the things which you heard from your father.”They answered and said to Him,“ Abraham is our father.” Jesus* said to them,“ If you are Abraham’s children, do the deeds of Abraham.But as it is, you are seeking to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God; this Abraham did not do.You are doing the deeds of your father.” They said to Him,“ We were not born as a result of sexual immorality; we have one Father: God.”Jesus said to them,“ If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came forth from God and am here; for I have not even come on My own, but He sent Me.Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot listen to My word.You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.But because I say the truth, you do not believe Me.Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?The one who is of God hears the words of God; for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

And He was saying to them,“ You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.
