But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him,throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.

just as he promised through his holy prophets long ago.

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said,‘ The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’

“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

just as the prophet Isaiah had written:“ Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way.

asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said,“ Listen, we’re going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true.
