So they said to him,“ Then what sign do you do, that we may see and believe you? What work do you perform?

他們又說：「你行甚麼神蹟，叫我們看見就信你；你到底做甚麼事呢？

於是他們對耶穌說：『那麼你行甚麼神迹、叫我們看見來信你呢？你作甚麼工啊？

他們就問：「那麼，你行個什麼神蹟，好讓我們看了就可以信你呢？你可以做什麼呢？

眾曰、爾行何異蹟、使我見而信爾乎、爾何所為乎、

曰、爾行何異跡、使我見而信爾、爾果何以哉、

曰、爾行何異跡、使我見而信爾、爾果何行、

眾曰：『汝有何靈徵、使我見而信之乎？汝亦何所務乎？

So they asked him,“ What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

So they asked him,“ What sign will you give us? What will you do so we can see it and believe you?

They answered,“ Show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What can you do?

“ What sign, then, are you going to do so that we may see and believe you?” they asked.“ What are you going to perform?

So they said to Him,“ What then are You doing as a sign, so that we may see, and believe You? What work are You performing?

Therefore they said to Him,“ What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

They said therefore unto him, What then doest thou for a sign, that we may see, and believe thee? what workest thou?

“ What sign then are You going to do so we may see and believe You?” they asked.“ What are You going to perform?

They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

So they said to him,“ Then what miraculous sign will you perform, so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

They said therefore to him,“ What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?

Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him,

but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”

But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.

So the Jews said to him,“ What sign do you show us for doing these things?”

For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom,

( For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.)

And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven.He answered them,“ When it is evening, you say,‘ It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’And in the morning,‘ It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.

When the crowds were increasing, he began to say,“ This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.

And he gave a sign the same day, saying,“ This is the sign that the Lord has spoken:‘ Behold, the altar shall be torn down, and the ashes that are on it shall be poured out.’”

The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him.

who say:“ Let him be quick, let him speed his work that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near, and let it come, that we may know it!”

The altar also was torn down, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of the Lord.

“ If they will not believe you,” God said,“ or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign.

So the other disciples told him,“ We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them,“ Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,“ Peace be with you.”Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.”Thomas answered him,“ My Lord and my God!”Jesus said to him,“ Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

“ Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.”But Ahaz said,“ I will not ask, and I will not put the Lord to the test.”And he said,“ Hear then, O house of David! Is it too little for you to weary men, that you weary my God also?Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying,“ Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”But he answered them,“ An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe.” Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.
