So then they said to him,“ What must we do to accomplish the deeds God requires?”

众人问他说：“我们当行什么才算做神的工呢？”

于是他们问他：“我们该做什么才算是做上帝的工作呢？”

众人问祂：“我们要怎样做，才算是做上帝的工作呢？”

众人又问他：“我们应该作什么，才算是作神的工作呢？”

他们问：“我们应该做什么，才算做神的工作呢？”

眾人問他說：「我們當行甚麼才算做神的工呢？」

於是他們問他：「我們該做甚麼才算是做上帝的工作呢？」

於是他們問他：「我們該做甚麼才算是做神的工作呢？」

眾人問祂：「我們要怎樣做，才算是做上帝的工作呢？」

眾人又問他：“我們應該作甚麼，才算是作神的工作呢？”

於是他們對耶穌說：『我們應當行甚麼、來作上帝的工呢？』

他們問：「我們應該做什麼，才算做神的工作呢？」

眾曰、我儕當何為以作上帝之工乎、

眾曰我儕當何為、以稱上帝之事乎、

眾曰、我當何為、以行天主之事乎、

眾問曰：『如之何始可務天主之務？』

Then they asked him,“ What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Then they asked him,“ What does God want from us? What works does he want us to do?”

Then they said to him,“ What must we do, to be doing the works of God?”

They replied,“ We want to perform God’s works, too. What should we do?”

“ What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked.

Therefore they said to Him,“ What are we to do, so that we may accomplish the works of God?”

Then they said to Him,“ What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God?

“ What can we do to perform the works of God?” they asked.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

They said therefore to him,“ What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

You go near so that you can hear everything the LORD our God is saying and then you can tell us whatever he says to you; then we will pay attention and do it.”

Now someone came up to him and said,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to gain eternal life?”

But stand up and enter the city and you will be told what you must do.”

Then he brought them outside and asked,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

You are making a fatal mistake. For you sent me to the LORD your God and asked me,‘ Pray to the LORD our God for us. Tell us what the LORD our God says and we will do it.’

Pray that the LORD your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do.”The prophet Jeremiah answered them,“ Agreed! I will indeed pray to the LORD your God as you have asked. I will tell you everything the LORD replies in response to you. I will not keep anything back from you.”They answered Jeremiah,“ May the LORD be a true and faithful witness against us if we do not do just as the LORD sends you to tell us to do.We will obey what the LORD our God to whom we are sending you tells us to do. It does not matter whether we like what he tells us or not. We will obey what he tells us to do so that things will go well for us.”

Now an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus, saying,“ Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Will the LORD accept a thousand rams, or ten thousand streams of olive oil? Should I give him my firstborn child as payment for my rebellion, my offspring– my own flesh and blood– for my sin?He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.

Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,“ What should we do, brothers?”
