Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth,

Why pay money for something that will not nourish you? Why spend your hard-earned money on something that will not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is nourishing! Enjoy fine food!

The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; no one will snatch them from my hand.

For this is the will of my Father– for everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him to have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

For the payoff of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.

for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort– for the sake of his good pleasure– is God.

However, God’s solid foundation remains standing, bearing this seal:“ The Lord knows those who are his,” and“ Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from evil.”

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

“ But I have a testimony greater than that from John. For the deeds that the Father has assigned me to complete– the deeds I am now doing– testify about me that the Father has sent me.And the Father who sent me has himself testified about me. You people have never heard his voice nor seen his form at any time,

This is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors ate, but then later died. The one who eats this bread will live forever.”

by making your ear attentive to wisdom, and by turning your heart to understanding,indeed, if you call out for discernment– raise your voice for understanding–if you seek it like silver, and search for it like hidden treasure,then you will understand how to fear the LORD, and you will discover knowledge about God.For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

Since all these things are to melt away in this manner, what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness,while waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God? Because of this day, the heavens will be burned up and dissolve, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze!But, according to his promise, we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness truly resides.Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.

All of man’s labor is for nothing more than to fill his stomach– yet his appetite is never satisfied!

“ Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision carries any weight– the only thing that matters is faith working through love.

For he received honor and glory from God the Father, when that voice was conveyed to him by the Majestic Glory:“ This is my dear Son, in whom I am delighted.”

For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; the grass withers and the flower falls off,

Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Then I say,“ Look! I come! What is written in the scroll pertains to me.

As your words came to me I drank them in, and they filled my heart with joy and happiness because I belong to you.

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

The king says,“ I will announce the LORD’S decree. He said to me:‘ You are my son! This very day I have become your father!

Jesus replied,“ Everyone who drinks some of this water will be thirsty again.But whoever drinks some of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”

The one who has accepted his testimony has confirmed clearly that God is truthful.

So then they said to him,“ What must we do to accomplish the deeds God requires?”Jesus replied,“ This is the deed God requires– to believe in the one whom he sent.”

And see to it that no one becomes an immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.

Toward this goal I also labor, struggling according to his power that powerfully works in me.

and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven,“ You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

Then a voice came from the cloud, saying,“ This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him!”

And I say this, brothers and sisters: The time is short. The spirit of the sovereign LORD is upon me, because the LORD has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives, and the freeing of prisoners,to announce the year when the LORD will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,to strengthen those who mourn in Zion, by giving them a turban, instead of ashes, oil symbolizing joy, instead of mourning, a garment symbolizing praise, instead of discouragement. They will be called oaks of righteousness, trees planted by the LORD to reveal his splendor.

And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised, so that he would become the father of all those who believe but have never been circumcised, that they too could have righteousness credited to them.

I knew that you always listen to me, but I said this for the sake of the crowd standing around here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

And a voice from heaven said,“ This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”

“ Here is my servant whom I support, my chosen one in whom I take pleasure. I have placed my spirit on him; he will make just decrees for the nations.

And I did not recognize him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘ The one on whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining– this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’I have both seen and testified that this man is the Chosen One of God.”

If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

And a voice came from heaven:“ You are my one dear Son; in you I take great delight.”

I testify about myself and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”

These are all destined to perish with use, founded as they are on human commands and teachings.

“ Food is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both.” The body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

“ Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man clearly attested to you by God with powerful deeds, wonders, and miraculous signs that God performed among you through him, just as you yourselves know–

When someone’s prosperity increases, those who consume it also increase; so what does its owner gain, except that he gets to see it with his eyes?The sleep of the laborer is pleasant– whether he eats little or much– but the wealth of the rich will not allow him to sleep.Here is a misfortune on earth that I have seen: Wealth hoarded by its owner to his own misery.Then that wealth was lost through bad luck; although he fathered a son, he has nothing left to give him.Just as he came forth from his mother’s womb, naked will he return as he came, and he will take nothing in his hand that he may carry away from his toil.This is another misfortune: Just as he came, so will he go. What did he gain from toiling for the wind?

Jesus said to her,“ I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies,and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

So then, don’t worry saying,‘ What will we eat?’ or‘ What will we drink?’ or‘ What will we wear?’For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and the regaining of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.Then he began to tell them,“ Today this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.”

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

Jesus replied,“ I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.But if I do them, even if you do not believe me, believe the deeds, so that you may come to know and understand that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.”

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s root stock, a bud will sprout from his roots.The LORD’s spirit will rest on him– a spirit that gives extraordinary wisdom, a spirit that provides the ability to execute plans, a spirit that produces absolute loyalty to the LORD.He will take delight in obeying the LORD. He will not judge by mere appearances, or make decisions on the basis of hearsay.

But Martha was distracted with all the preparations she had to make, so she came up to him and said,“ Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do all the work alone? Tell her to help me.”But the Lord answered her,“ Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things,but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the best part; it will not be taken away from her.”

Do you not know that all the runners in a stadium compete, but only one receives the prize? So run to win.Each competitor must exercise self- control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.

If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, for you are the confirming sign of my apostleship in the Lord.

Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

Be sure of this! The LORD who commands armies has decreed: The nations’ efforts will go up in smoke; their exhausting work will be for nothing.

because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
