那患病的人回答耶穌說：『先生，我沒有人、可以在水被攪動時、把我放進池子裏；我正去的時候，已有別人比我先下去了！』

病人回答说：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放在池子里；我正去的时候，就有别人比我先下去。”

病人回答他：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放在池子里；我正要去的时候，别人比我先下去了。”

病人回答他：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放在池子里；我正要去的时候，别人比我先下去了。”

那人回答说：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放进池子里，我要下去的时候，别人总是先我一步。”

病人回答：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放在池里；自己想去的时候，总是给别人抢先。”

那个病人回答：“先生，池水被搅动的时候，没有人把我放进池子里；而正当我要下去的时候，别人总比我先下去。”

病人回答說：「先生，水動的時候，沒有人把我放在池子裏；我正去的時候，就有別人比我先下去。」

病人回答他：「先生，水動的時候，沒有人把我放在池子裏；我正要去的時候，別人比我先下去了。」

病人回答他：「先生，水動的時候，沒有人把我放在池子裏；我正要去的時候，別人比我先下去了。」

那人回答說：「先生，水動的時候，沒有人把我放進池子裡，我要下去的時候，別人總是先我一步。」

病人回答：“先生，水動的時候，沒有人把我放在池裡；自己想去的時候，總是給別人搶先。”

那個病人回答：「先生，池水被攪動的時候，沒有人把我放進池子裡；而正當我要下去的時候，別人總比我先下去。」

病者曰、主、水湧時無人掖我入池、逮我至、他人先我下矣、

病者曰、主、水動時、無扶我下池者、及我來、人先我下矣、

病者曰、水動時、無人扶我下池、我尚未至、即有人先下矣、

病者對曰：『主、水動時、無人扶我入池、比予往、他人已捷足先至矣。』

“ Sir,” the invalid replied,“ I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

“ Sir,” the disabled man replied,“ I have no one to help me into the pool when an angel stirs up the water. I try to get in, but someone else always goes down ahead of me.”

The sick man answered him,“ Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.”

“ I can’t, sir,” the sick man said,“ for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”

“ Sir,” the disabled man answered,“ I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, someone goes down ahead of me.”

The sick man answered Him,“ Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

The sick man answered Him,“ Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

The sick man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

“ Sir,” the sick man answered,“ I don’t have a man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, someone goes down ahead of me.”

The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

The sick man answered him,“ Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I am trying to get into the water, someone else goes down there before me.”

The sick man answered him,“ Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”

因為他援救呼救的窮人，也援救困苦人和無人幫助的。

『因為永恆主見他人民的手力用盡、沒有剩下一人，連受束縛的帶得釋放的都沒剩下，就要為他人民行裁判，憐恤他的僕人，

豈不知在賽場上跑的、人人都跑，卻只有一個得着獎賞麼？所以你們要跑到抓得着。

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們從前在亞西亞所受的苦難，就是：極受重壓，出於力所能勝之外，甚至到了絕望，連活着的希望都沒有；自己心裏也已斷定必死。這是要使我們不倚靠自己，乃倚靠那叫死人活起來的上帝。他已經援救我們脫離這麼大的死亡，將來還要援救；我們一向所寄望的他、將來還要援救。

我望着右邊看，並沒有人注意到我；我逃走的路都斷絕了，沒有人照顧我。

假使盼望是空的，為甚麼當我們還在軟弱無力時、基督就在適當的時機替不虔的人死呢？

這些廊子裏面躺臥着成羣患病的人：瞎眼的、瘸腿的、枯乾的。
