Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. He traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

The time grew near for Jesus to be taken up to heaven. So he made up his mind to go to Jerusalem.He sent messengers on ahead. They went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him.

Jesus sent these 12 out with the following orders.“ Do not go among the Gentiles,” he said.“ Do not enter any town of the Samaritans.Instead, go to the people of Israel. They are like sheep that have become lost.

“ Why were you looking for me?” he asked.“ Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”
