“ My food,” said Jesus,“ is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” (niv)

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,“ My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” (niv)

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (niv)

For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” (niv)

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (niv)

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (niv)

“ Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety- nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shouldersand goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,‘ Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ (niv)

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (niv)

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. (niv)
