John responded,“ No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.

To this John replied,“ A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

For who makes you so superior? What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Was John’s baptism from heaven or of human origin? Answer me.”They discussed it among themselves:“ If we say,‘ From heaven,’ he will say,‘ Then why didn’t you believe him?’

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God.If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God.We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people.But the person without the Spirit does not receive what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually.

According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts: If prophecy, use it according to the proportion of one’s faith;

Isn’t it enough for you that the God of Israel has separated you from the Israelite community to bring you near to himself, to perform the work at the LORD’s tabernacle, and to stand before the community to minister to them?He has brought you near, and all your fellow Levites who are with you, but you are pursuing the priesthood as well.Therefore, it is you and all your followers who have conspired against the LORD! As for Aaron, who is he that you should complain about him?”

“ Yet the LORD God of Israel chose me out of all my father’s family to be king over Israel forever. For he chose Judah as leader, and from the house of Judah, my father’s family, and from my father’s sons, he was pleased to make me king over all Israel.And out of all my sons— for the LORD has given me many sons— he has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the LORD’s kingdom over Israel.

Through him we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the Gentiles,
