So they came to John and told him,“ Rabbi, the one you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing— and everyone is going to him.”

于是门徒来见约翰，说：“老师，你看，以前在约旦河对岸和你在一起、你为祂做见证的那位在给人施洗，众人都去祂那里了！”

他们来到约翰那里，对他说：“拉比，你看，从前和你在约旦河东，你为他作见证的那一位，他也在施洗，众人都到他那里去了。”

他们就到约翰那里，对他说：“拉比，你看，以前与你在约旦河对岸的，就是你所见证的那一位，他也在施洗，而且大家都到他那里去了。”

就來見約翰，說：「拉比，從前同你在約旦河外、你所見證的那位，現在施洗，眾人都往他那裏去了。」

來就約翰曰、拉比、昔偕爾在約但外、爾所證者、今施洗而眾就之、

因共謁如望曰：『夫子曩在約但河外、所為作證者、今亦授洗、人盡趨之。』

They came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan— the one you testified about— look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”

They came to John and here is what they said to him.“ Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan River is baptizing people. He is the one you told us about. Everyone is going to him.”

And they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness— look, he is baptizing, and all are going to him.”

So John’s disciples came to him and said,“ Rabbi, the man you met on the other side of the Jordan River, the one you identified as the Messiah, is also baptizing people. And everybody is going to him instead of coming to us.”

And they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified— behold, He is baptizing and all the people are coming to Him.”

And they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified— behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!”

And they came unto John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou hast borne witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

So they came to John and told him,“ Rabbi, the One you testified about, and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptizing— and everyone is flocking to Him.”

And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all[ men] come to him.

So they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, the one who was with you on the other side of the Jordan River, about whom you testified– see, he is baptizing, and everyone is flocking to him!”

They came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, he baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”

He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him.

Then the Pharisees said to one another,“ You see? You’ve accomplished nothing. Look, the world has gone after him!”

By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to me, every tongue will swear allegiance.

But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and deny the truth.Such wisdom does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil practice.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who cultivate peace.

because you are still worldly. For since there is envy and strife among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?For whenever someone says,“ I belong to Paul,” and another,“ I belong to Apollos,” are you not acting like mere humans?What then is Apollos? What is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, and each has the role the Lord has given.

I saw that all labor and all skillful work is due to one person’s jealousy of another. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

You see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in almost all of Asia, this man Paul has persuaded and misled a considerable number of people by saying that gods made by hand are not gods.Not only do we run a risk that our business may be discredited, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis may be despised and her magnificence come to the verge of ruin— the very one all of Asia and the world worship.”

( John testified concerning him and exclaimed,“ This was the one of whom I said,‘ The one coming after me ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.’”)

Or do you think it’s without reason that the Scripture says: The spirit he made to dwell in us envies intensely?But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says: God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

“ I baptize with water,” John answered them.“ Someone stands among you, but you don’t know him.He is the one coming after me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to untie.”All this happened in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing.The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said,“ Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!This is the one I told you about:‘ After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.’I didn’t know him, but I came baptizing with water so that he might be revealed to Israel.”And John testified,“ I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and he rested on him.I didn’t know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The one you see the Spirit descending and resting on— he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”The next day, John was standing with two of his disciples.When he saw Jesus passing by, he said,“ Look, the Lamb of God!”

If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

All humanity will come to you, the one who hears prayer.

idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things— as I warned you before— that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Two men had remained in the camp, one named Eldad and the other Medad; the Spirit rested on them— they were among those listed, but had not gone out to the tent— and they prophesied in the camp.A young man ran and reported to Moses,“ Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”Joshua son of Nun, assistant to Moses since his youth, responded,“ Moses, my lord, stop them!”But Moses asked him,“ Are you jealous on my account? If only all the LORD’s people were prophets and the LORD would place his Spirit on them!”

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.

This man came to him at night and said,“ Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one could perform these signs you do unless God were with him.”

Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised— but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.For even the circumcised don’t keep the law themselves, and yet they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh.
