唉，他們仍不知道，也不明白，只在黑暗中走來走去，以致地的根基都搖動了！我心裏說：『你們倒是神類，倒都是以利約恩的眾子呢！其實你們是會死的，像世人一樣；王子們哪，你們都必一概倒斃。』

懼怕人的、乃自設網羅；但倚靠永恆主的、必得到安穩。

『也是我在收割前還有三個月使雨停止不降在你們那裏；我降雨在一個城，不降雨在另一個城；這一塊地有雨，那一塊地無雨，就枯乾了。

在耶路撒冷有個池子、靠近羊門，希伯來土話叫畢士大，有五個廊子。

但是彼得約翰卻回答他們說：『聽你們、過於聽上帝，這在上帝面前對不對，你們自己判斷吧。

我要指示你們應當怕誰：你們要怕那把你們殺了以後、又有權柄把你們丟在地獄裏的；實在的、我告訴你們，你們要怕這一位。

『是我，我親自安慰你們的；你怎麼啦，你竟怕那會死的人，怕那生成如草的世人呀！你竟忘了那造了你、的永恆主，那展開諸天，奠定了大地的，而那窘迫人者準備要行毁滅時、你就終日懼怕他的烈怒呀！其實那窘迫人者的烈怒在哪裏呢？

你怕誰？你因誰而恐懼，竟然撒謊？連我、你都不懷念，不放在心上！豈不是我緘默不言又閉口許久了，以致連我、你都不畏懼麼？

掌權的啊，你們果真講公義麼？按正直審判人類麼？不，你們是心中行着不義，而在地上以手秤出強暴的。

彼拉多一聽見這話，便越發害怕；

那肆行毁滅而居權位者，憑着律例架弄奸惡、結夥攻害義人的性命，將無辜流血的人定了死罪的，能跟你聯合麼？

你若在一省之中見有窮乏人受欺壓、而公平公義的權利被剝奪，你不要因這事而詫異；因為有一位高於居高位者在鑒察着，而在他們以上還有更高的。
