Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them.“ Who are you looking for?” he asked.

Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them,“ Who is it you want?”

Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him. So he went out and asked them,“ Who do you want?”

Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end.

Once more he asked them,“ Who are you looking for?” And again they replied,“ Jesus the Nazarene.”

When they heard the report, all the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God:“ O Sovereign Lord, Creator of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—you spoke long ago by the Holy Spirit through our ancestor David, your servant, saying,‘ Why were the nations so angry? Why did they waste their time with futile plans?The kings of the earth prepared for battle; the rulers gathered together against the Lord and against his Messiah.’“ In fact, this has happened here in this very city! For Herod Antipas, Pontius Pilate the governor, the Gentiles, and the people of Israel were all united against Jesus, your holy servant, whom you anointed.But everything they did was determined beforehand according to your will.

But some of you do not believe me.”( For Jesus knew from the beginning which ones didn’t believe, and he knew who would betray him.)

But I replied,“ Should someone in my position run from danger? Should someone in my position enter the Temple to save his life? No, I won’t do it!”

For I swear by the Lord your God that the king has searched every nation and kingdom on earth from end to end to find you. And each time he was told,‘ Elijah isn’t here,’ King Ahab forced the king of that nation to swear to the truth of his claim.

For Jesus knew who would betray him. That is what he meant when he said,“ Not all of you are clean.”

After they gathered again in Galilee, Jesus told them,“ The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of his enemies.He will be killed, but on the third day he will be raised from the dead.” And the disciples were filled with grief.

“ Listen,” he said,“ we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die.Then they will hand him over to the Romans to be mocked, flogged with a whip, and crucified. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.”

While they were eating, he said,“ I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”

The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions.

“ Listen,” he said,“ we’re going up to Jerusalem, where the Son of Man will be betrayed to the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. They will sentence him to die and hand him over to the Romans.They will mock him, spit on him, flog him with a whip, and kill him, but after three days he will rise again.”

Taking the twelve disciples aside, Jesus said,“ Listen, we’re going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true.He will be handed over to the Romans, and he will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon.They will flog him with a whip and kill him, but on the third day he will rise again.”

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said,“ I am thirsty.”

“ As you know, Passover begins in two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

“ The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again.No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.”

From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.

So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin.

He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee,that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.”

I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.

Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’

On the way, Jesus told them,“ Tonight all of you will desert me. For the Scriptures say,‘ God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’

Then he said,“ When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

“ And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don’t know what awaits me,except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead.

And now you say,‘ Go and tell your master,“ Elijah is here.”’ Sir, if I do that, Ahab will certainly kill me.”But Elijah said,“ I swear by the Lord Almighty, in whose presence I stand, that I will present myself to Ahab this very day.”So Obadiah went to tell Ahab that Elijah had come, and Ahab went out to meet Elijah.When Ahab saw him, he exclaimed,“ So, is it really you, you troublemaker of Israel?”“ I have made no trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied.“ You and your family are the troublemakers, for you have refused to obey the commands of the Lord and have worshiped the images of Baal instead.
