Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them,“ Who is it you want?”

Jesus knew everything that was going to happen to him. So he went out and asked them,“ Who do you want?”

Then Jesus, knowing all that would happen to him, came forward and said to them,“ Whom do you seek?”

Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them.“ Who are you looking for?” he asked.

Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon Him, came out into the open and* said to them,“ Whom are you seeking?”

Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

Then he asked them again,“ Who is it that you’re seeking?”“ Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.

When they heard this, they raised their voices together to God and said,“ Master, you are the one who made the heaven, the earth, and the sea, and everything in them.You said through the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David your servant: Why do the Gentiles rage and the peoples plot futile things?The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers assemble together against the Lord and against his Messiah.“ For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,to do whatever your hand and your will had predestined to take place.

But there are some among you who don’t believe.”( For Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not believe and the one who would betray him.)

But I said,“ Should a man like me run away? How can someone like me enter the temple and live? I will not go.”

As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent someone to search for you. When they said,‘ He is not here,’ he made that kingdom or nation swear they had not found you.

For he knew who would betray him. This is why he said,“ Not all of you are clean.”

As they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus told them,“ The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised up.” And they were deeply distressed.

“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death.They will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked, flogged, and crucified, and on the third day he will be raised.”

While they were eating, he said,“ Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”

The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death. Then they will hand him over to the Gentiles,and they will mock him, spit on him, flog him, and kill him, and he will rise after three days.”

Then he took the Twelve aside and told them,“ See, we are going up to Jerusalem. Everything that is written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished.For he will be handed over to the Gentiles, and he will be mocked, insulted, spit on;and after they flog him, they will kill him, and he will rise on the third day.”

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now finished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said,“ I’m thirsty.”

“ You know that the Passover takes place after two days, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life so that I may take it up again.No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from my Father.”

From then on Jesus began to point out to his disciples that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and be raised the third day.

Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding— because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished with sin—

“ He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,saying,‘ It is necessary that the Son of Man be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, be crucified, and rise on the third day’?”

I will not be afraid of thousands of people who have taken their stand against me on every side.

Though an army deploys against me, my heart will not be afraid; though a war breaks out against me, I will still be confident.

You have revealed the paths of life to me; you will fill me with gladness in your presence.

Then Jesus said to them,“ Tonight all of you will fall away because of me, for it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

He told them,“ These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you— that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

“ And now I am on my way to Jerusalem, compelled by the Spirit, not knowing what I will encounter there,except that in every town the Holy Spirit warns me that chains and afflictions are waiting for me.

Now you say,‘ Go tell your lord,“ Elijah is here!”’ He will kill me!”Then Elijah said,“ As the LORD of Armies lives, in whose presence I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him. Then Ahab went to meet Elijah.When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him,“ Is that you, the one ruining Israel?”He replied,“ I have not ruined Israel, but you and your father’s family have, because you have abandoned the LORD’s commands and followed the Baals.
