比辣多復出語眾曰：『爾其識之、吾以此人示爾、爾當知吾實未見其罪也。』

司祭諸長與吏胥見而大呼曰：『釘死之！釘死之！』比辣多曰：『爾曹自取釘之、吾則未見其罪。』

比辣多謂司祭諸長及群眾曰：『吾未見其罪也。』

基督平生未犯一罪、口無欺人之言、見詬不反、見辱不校、將一切付諸公平主宰之手、

比辣多見無濟、且恐民眾生變、乃當眾取水盥手曰：『此義者之血、我無染焉、爾自承之。』

乃為基督之寶血。基督乃無玷無染之羔羊！

方伯固知若輩之解送耶穌、純出嫉妒耳。比辣多坐堂時、其夫人遣人來告曰：『勿預此義者事！予適緣彼得夢、殊苦。』

葆樂為之講述正義、貞節、及未來之審判。裴力斯恐懼曰：『汝今且去、有暇當再邀汝。』裴力斯又望葆樂予以賄賂、故屢邀彼至、與之周旋。

眾聞復活之說、有譏之者；或曰：『容待再聞。』

比辣多曰：『是亦何為！彼曾作何惡？』眾更竭聲而呼曰：『釘死之！』

眾引葆樂至亞略巴古書院、曰：『所講新道、可得聞乎？蓋爾所傳者、在吾人耳中、實屬異聞、頗欲一明其旨。』

猶太人之司祭諸長、乃謂比辣多曰：『勿書「猶太人王、」應書「彼自稱為猶太人王。」』比辣多應曰：『書者書矣！』

『爾解斯人至、以為亂民；顧吾已就爾所控者、當眾審問、未見其罪；即希祿亦未見其罪、爰解之返、足見其實無可死之道、吾將責而釋之。』
