彼拉多再次出來對猶太人說：「看！我把他帶出來給你們，是要你們知道，我查不出他有什麼罪。」

祭司長們和差役們一看見耶穌，就喊叫說：「釘上十字架！釘上十字架！」彼拉多對他們說：「你們自己把他帶走釘上十字架！要知道，我查不出他有罪。」

彼拉多對祭司長們和眾人說：「我查不出這個人有什麼罪。」

他沒有犯過罪，在他口中也找不出詭詐；他被辱罵的時候，不還口；受苦害的時候，不說威嚇的話，而是把自己交託給以公義施行審判的那一位。

彼拉多知道自己無濟於事，反而騷亂倒要發生，就拿水在眾人面前洗手，說：「流這人的血，罪不在我，你們自己看著辦吧！」

而是憑著那像羔羊一樣毫無瑕疵、毫無玷汙的基督寶血。

其實彼拉多知道他們是出於嫉妒才把耶穌交給他的。彼拉多正坐在審判席上，他的妻子派人到他那裡說：「這義人的事，你什麼也不要管。要知道，我今天因他的緣故，在夢中受了很多苦。」

當保羅講論關於公義、自制和將來的審判時，菲利克斯感到害怕，就說：「你現在可以回去，我有了時間，就會叫你。」同時他也希望保羅送他錢，所以經常把他叫來，和他交談。

他們聽到死人復活的事，雖然有些人嘲笑他，但有些人卻說：「關於此事，我們還要再聽你說！」

彼拉多對他們說：「他到底做了什麼惡事呢？」但他們卻越發喊叫：「把他釘上十字架！」

他們就拉住保羅，帶他到亞略巴古，問他：「你所講論的這新教導，我們可以知道嗎？既然你帶來了一些奇怪的事，傳到我們耳中，那麼我們想知道這些事到底是什麼意思。」

猶太人的祭司長們對彼拉多說：「請不要寫『猶太人的王』，而要寫『這個人說：我是猶太人的王。』」彼拉多回答：「我所寫的，我已經寫了。」

對他們說：「你們把這個人帶到我這裡來，說他是誤導民眾造反的。看，我已經當著你們的面審問了他，在他身上卻一點也查不出你們所控告的罪。其實希律也查不出來，所以把他送回給我們。看，他沒有做過什麼該死的事。因此，懲罰了以後，我要釋放他。」
