Pilate therefore went out unto them, and saith, What accusation bring ye against this man?

彼拉多出、謂眾曰、以何事訟斯人乎、

比辣多乃出而問曰：『爾曹控此人何事？』

So Pilate came out to them and asked,“ What charges are you bringing against this man?”

So Pilate went outside to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

So Pilate, the governor, went out to them and asked,“ What is your charge against this man?”

So Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”

Therefore Pilate came out to them and* said,“ What accusation are you bringing against this Man?”

Pilate then went out to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this Man?”

Then Pilate came out to them and said,“ What charge do you bring against this man?”

Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

So Pilate came outside to them and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

Pilate therefore went out to them, and said,“ What accusation do you bring against this man?”

And he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified.

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering saith unto him, Thou sayest.And the chief priests accused him of many things.And Pilate again asked him, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they accuse thee of.But Jesus no more answered anything; insomuch that Pilate marvelled.

And they began to accuse him, saying, We found this man perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Cæsar, and saying that he himself is Christ a king.And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest.

And desiring to know the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him down unto their council:whom I found to be accused about questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.And when it was shown to me that there would be a plot against the man, I sent him to thee forthwith, charging his accusers also to speak against him before thee.

Now Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.Then saith Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?And he gave him no answer, not even to one word: insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.

To whom I answered, that it is not the custom of the Romans to give up any man, before that the accused have the accusers face to face, and have had opportunity to make his defence concerning the matter laid against him.
