Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself by the fire. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of Jesus’ disciples too, are you?” He said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again,“ You’re not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ No, I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him,“ You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also[ one] of his disciples? He denied[ it], and said, I am not.

Meanwhile Simon Peter was standing in the courtyard warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” Peter denied it:“ I am not!”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him,“ You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

無何、又一人見之曰：『汝亦彼黨。』伯鐸祿曰：『君誤矣！吾非彼黨。』閱一時許、更有人堅言曰：『此人確為彼黨、亦加利利人也。』伯鐸祿曰：『吾實不知君之所云。』言未已而雞鳴矣。主回顧伯鐸祿、伯鐸祿方憶主所語今宵雞鳴前、行見爾三背予之言、遂出而痛哭。

既出、方及門、又一使女見之、語於眾曰：『此乃納匝勒人耶穌之同夥也。』伯鐸祿復否認、並誓曰：『予不識其人也。』無何、旁立者更進謂伯鐸祿曰：『爾確為彼黨、聽爾之方音、已可知之矣。』伯鐸祿且咒且誓曰：『吾實不識其人。』雞即鳴矣。方憶耶穌「雞猶未鳴、行見爾不認予者三」之言。伯鐸祿乃悄然而出、不禁涕淚滂沱。

司閽婦乃問伯鐸祿曰：『汝亦斯人之徒歟？』對曰：『非也！』時天氣正寒、諸僕與吏胥爇炭圍火而立、用以取煖；伯鐸祿亦與之同立、而取煖焉。

惟伯鐸祿至安提阿時、有過、予曾面斥之。蓋有人來自雅各伯、當其未至伯鐸祿與外邦人同食；及其既至、彼乃逡巡引退、離群索居、惟恐受割禮者之誹己也。其餘猶太人、相率效尤、即巴拿巴亦被虛偽之風所靡。

一婢見其面火坐、注視之曰：『此人從耶穌。』

伯鐸祿時坐院外、有使女詣其前曰：『爾與彼加利利人耶穌夙為同夥。』

及返、見諸徒皆睡、呼伯鐸祿曰：『西門睡耶？竟弗克儆守半晷！宜儆守祈禱、庶免陷於外誘；心志誠毅、形驅則餒。』

見其向火取暖、注視之曰：『爾亦彼納匝勒人耶穌之同道！』伯鐸祿不承曰：『吾不識斯人、亦莫明爾之所云。』遂出至前院、雞初鳴。而婢又見之、顧謂旁立者曰：『此人亦彼同黨。』伯鐸祿又不承。無何、旁立者又謂之曰：『爾確為彼之同黨、蓋爾亦加利利人耳。』伯鐸祿乃且咒且誓曰：『吾實不識爾所云之彼人也！』言甫畢、雞復鳴。伯鐸祿乃憶耶穌「雞未二鳴爾已三不認予」之言。不覺悲從中來、泫然而泣矣。
