時西門彼得立而向火、眾謂之曰、爾亦其徒之一乎、彼得諱之曰、非也、

而伯鐸祿猶立而取煖。或問之、曰：『汝亦斯人之徒歟？』伯鐸祿否認曰：『非也！』

Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, Simon Peter was still standing there warming himself by the fire. So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of Jesus’ disciples too, are you?” He said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You also are not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Meanwhile, as Simon Peter was standing by the fire warming himself, they asked him again,“ You’re not one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ No, I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said to him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter was still standing and warming himself. So they said to him,“ You are not one of His disciples as well, are you?” He denied it, and said,“ I am not.”

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him,“ You are not also one of His disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not!”

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him,“ You aren’t also one of his disciples, are you?” He denied it and said,“ I am not.”

过了不多的时候，又有一个人看见他，说：“你也是他们一党的。”彼得说：“你这个人！我不是。”约过了一小时，又有一个人极力地说：“他实在是同那人一伙的，因为他也是加利利人。”彼得说：“你这个人！我不晓得你说的是什么！”正说话之间，鸡就叫了。主转过身来看彼得，彼得便想起主对他所说的话：“今日鸡叫以先，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

惧怕人的，陷入网罗；惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。

既出去，到了门口，又有一个使女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这个人也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得又不承认，并且起誓说：“我不认得那个人。”过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人前来，对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的，你的口音把你露出来了。”彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得那个人。”立时，鸡就叫了。彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以先，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

那看门的使女对彼得说：“你不也是这人的门徒吗？”他说：“我不是。”仆人和差役因为天冷，就生了炭火，站在那里烤火；彼得也同他们站着烤火。

后来，矶法到了安提阿；因他有可责之处，我就当面抵挡他。从雅各那里来的人未到以先，他和外邦人一同吃饭，及至他们来到，他因怕奉割礼的人，就退去与外邦人隔开了。其余的犹太人也都随着他装假，甚至连巴拿巴也随伙装假。

有一个使女看见彼得坐在火光里，就定睛看他，说：“这个人素来也是同那人一伙的。”

彼得在外面院子里坐着，有一个使女前来，说：“你素来也是同那加利利人耶稣一伙的。”

耶稣回来，见他们睡着了，就对彼得说：“西门，你睡觉吗？不能警醒片时吗？总要警醒祷告，免得入了迷惑。你们心灵固然愿意，肉体却软弱了。”

撒拉就害怕，不承认，说：“我没有笑。”那位说：“不然，你实在笑了。”

见彼得烤火，就看着他，说：“你素来也是同拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的。”彼得却不承认，说：“我不知道，也不明白你说的是什么。”于是出来，到了前院，鸡就叫了。那使女看见他，又对旁边站着的人说：“这也是他们一党的。”彼得又不承认。过了不多的时候，旁边站着的人又对彼得说：“你真是他们一党的！因为你是加利利人。”彼得就发咒起誓地说：“我不认得你们说的这个人。”立时鸡叫了第二遍。彼得想起耶稣对他所说的话：“鸡叫两遍以先，你要三次不认我。”思想起来，就哭了。
