Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

茲聞予言、爾乃不勝憂戚。

Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things.

Instead, you are filled with sadness because I have said these things.

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

Instead, you grieve because of what I’ve told you.

But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

But because I have spoken these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

Instead your hearts are filled with sadness because I have said these things to you.

But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.

“ Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.

Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world.So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you.

Then he asked them,“ What is this dispute that you’re having with each other as you are walking?” And they stopped walking and looked discouraged.

But Mary stood outside the tomb, crying. As she was crying, she stooped to look into the tomb.She saw two angels in white sitting where Jesus’s body had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet.They said to her,“ Woman, why are you crying?”“ Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them,“ and I don’t know where they’ve put him.”Having said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know it was Jesus.“ Woman,” Jesus said to her,“ why are you crying? Who is it that you’re seeking?” Supposing he was the gardener, she replied,“ Sir, if you’ve carried him away, tell me where you’ve put him, and I will take him away.”

“ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.You have heard me tell you,‘ I am going away and I am coming to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.

When he got up from prayer and came to the disciples, he found them sleeping, exhausted from their grief.
