他使不能生育的女人安居家中，成為有兒女的快樂母親。哈利路亞！

撒拉說：「神使我歡笑，所有聽見的人也必與我一同歡笑。」她又說：「當年會有人對亞伯拉罕說『撒拉將乳養孩子』嗎？我竟然在他年老的時候，為他生了一個兒子。」

拉結懷孕，生了一個兒子，就說：「神除去了我的羞辱。」於是給孩子起名為約瑟，說：「願耶和華再給我增添一個兒子。」

耶和華啊，他們在危難中尋求你；你的管教臨到他們，他們就低聲向你傾心吐意！孕婦臨產時怎樣掙扎，陣痛時怎樣喊叫，耶和華啊，我們在你面前也照樣如此！我們也曾懷孕、掙扎，但生下來的卻像風一樣；我們沒有給地上帶來拯救，世上的居民也沒有生出。

哈娜說：「哦，我主啊！我指著我主的生命起誓：我就是從前在這裡站在你旁邊，向耶和華禱告的那婦人。我為了得這孩子而禱告，現在耶和華已經把我向他所求的賜給我了。

她懷了孕；後來在臨產的陣痛和分娩的折磨中喊叫起來。隨後，天上出現了另一個徵兆：看哪，一條火紅色的巨龍，有七個頭和十隻角，七個頭上戴著七個王冠。牠的尾巴拖著天上星辰的三分之一，把它們摔在地上。這龍站在那快要生產的婦人面前，為要在她生產之後，吞吃她的孩子。那婦人生了一個男孩子，就是那位將要用鐵杖治理萬國的。可是這孩子被提到神和他的寶座那裡。

伊莉莎白產期到了，生了一個兒子。她的鄰居和親戚聽說主向她大施憐憫，就與她一同歡樂。
