Most certainly I tell you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

予切實語爾爾將哀悼痛苦、而世將歡忻鼓舞。爾等不免憂心戚戚、然爾等之憂戚、終必化為神樂。

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.

What I’m about to tell you is true. You will weep and mourn while the world is full of joy. You will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.

Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy.

I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy.

Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.

Truly, truly I say to you that you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will grieve, but your grief will be turned into joy!

Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

“ I assure you: You will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

I tell you the solemn truth, you will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; you will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations,

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ—whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,

A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him.

as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

I told him,“ My lord, you know.” He said to me,“ These are those who came out of the great suffering. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them.They will never be hungry or thirsty any more. The sun won’t beat on them, nor any heat;for the Lamb who is in the middle of the throne shepherds them and leads them to springs of life- giving waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.

I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me, and heard my cry.He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in Yahweh.

But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.”

Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,

Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith,

to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified.

He went out, and wept bitterly.

They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for Jesus’ name.

He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken it.It shall be said in that day,“ Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!”

that the triumphing of the wicked is short, the joy of the godless but for a moment?

He said to them,“ What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,

The rooster crowed the second time. Peter remembered the word, how that Jesus said to him,“ Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.” When he thought about that, he wept.

However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart,‘ I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

But because I have told you these things, sorrow has filled your heart.

Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.

Hear Yahweh’s word, you who tremble at his word:“ Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said,‘ Let Yahweh be glorified, that we may see your joy;’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.

through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance;

In that day you will say,“ I will give thanks to you, Yahweh; for though you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you comfort me.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

Now on the next day, which was the day after the Preparation Day, the chief priests and the Pharisees were gathered together to Pilate,saying,“ Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive:‘ After three days I will rise again.’Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest perhaps his disciples come at night and steal him away, and tell the people,‘ He is risen from the dead;’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”Pilate said to them,“ You have a guard. Go, make it as secure as you can.”So they went with the guard and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone.

When the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying,“ Certainly this was a righteous man.”All the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned home beating their breasts.All his acquaintances and the women who followed with him from Galilee stood at a distance, watching these things.

They will come with weeping. I will lead them with petitions. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they won’t stumble; for I am a father to Israel. Ephraim is my firstborn.“ Hear Yahweh’s word, you nations, and declare it in the distant islands. Say,‘ He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock.’For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.They will come and sing in the height of Zion, and will flow to the goodness of Yahweh, to the grain, to the new wine, to the oil, and to the young of the flock and of the herd. Their soul will be as a watered garden. They will not sorrow any more at all.Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance; the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people will be satisfied with my goodness,” says Yahweh.

You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying,“ Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days,save yourself, and come down from the cross!”Likewise, also the chief priests mocking among themselves with the scribes said,“ He saved others. He can’t save himself.Let the Christ, the King of Israel, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with him also insulted him.

Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads,and saying,“ You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said,“ He saved others, but he can’t save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.

But standing by Jesus’ cross were his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.Therefore when Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing there, he said to his mother,“ Woman, behold, your son!”Then he said to the disciple,“ Behold, your mother!” From that hour, the disciple took her to his own home.

When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves,‘ This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and seize his inheritance.’
