“ These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble.

我以此語爾、免爾傾覆、

我以此告爾、免爾厭棄我、

我以此告爾、免爾因我躓蹶、

予以此預告、庶幾來日爾等意志不致搖動。

“ All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.

“ I have told you all this so that you will not turn away from the truth.

“ I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.

“ I have told you these things so that you won’t abandon your faith.

“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

“ These things I have spoken to you so that you will not be led into sin.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.

“ I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.

“ I have told you all these things so that you will not fall away.

“ I have said these things to you so that you wouldn’t be caused to stumble.

and“ A stone of stumbling And a rock of offense.” They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.“ And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you.

that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

Then Jesus said to them,“ All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written:‘ I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”Peter answered and said to Him,“ Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”

And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

“ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.Remember the word that I said to you,‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.He who hates Me hates My Father also.If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law,‘ They hated Me without a cause.’“ But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”

“ These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.
