一块经常受到雨水滋润的田地若为耕种的人长出庄稼来，就蒙上帝赐福；若长出来的尽是荆棘和蒺藜，就毫无价值，它会面临被咒诅的危险，最后必遭焚烧。

属于我的枝子如果不结果子，祂就把它剪掉；如果结果子，祂便修剪它，让它结更多的果子。

但它被愤怒地连根拔起，抛在地上。东风吹干了它的果实，粗壮的枝干折断枯干，被火焚烧。现在，它被栽种在干旱的旷野。但火从枝干蔓延，烧毁了它的果实，没有留下一根粗壮的枝干可作王的杖。’“这是一首哀歌，也必用作哀歌。”

人子也将派天使把一切引人犯罪和作孽的人从祂国里挑出来，

如果他们借着认识我们的主和救主耶稣基督，已经摆脱了世俗的污秽，但后来又被这些事缠住、俘虏了，他们的处境会比以前更糟糕。

现在斧头已经放在树根上了，不结好果子的树都要被砍下，丢在火里。

葡萄木有什么用呢？能用它制造挂钩挂东西吗？它只能用来当柴烧。如果火已经烧了它的两头，中间也烧黑了，它还有什么用呢？它完好无损的时候，尚且不能用来制造工具，被火烧后岂不更没用了吗？所以，主耶和华说，我怎样把林中的葡萄树丢在火中当柴烧，也必照样丢弃耶路撒冷的居民。我必严惩他们。他们纵然火里逃生，仍要被火烧灭。我严惩他们的时候，他们便知道我是耶和华。

名字没有记在生命册上的都要被扔进火湖里。

这些人是从我们中间出去的，但他们不属于我们。他们如果属于我们，就会留在我们当中了。他们的离去表明他们都不属于我们。

“你要告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘这树能长得枝繁叶茂吗？难道那鹰不把它连根拔起，摘掉它的果子，使树和嫩叶全部枯萎吗？不必费多大力气，也不需要多少人就可以把它连根拔起。

这些人在你们的爱宴中是败类。他们肆无忌惮地吃喝，是只顾喂养自己的牧人；是没有雨的云，随风飘荡；是深秋不结果子的树，被连根拔起，彻底枯死。他们是海中的狂涛，翻动着自己可耻的泡沫，是流荡的星星，有幽幽黑暗永远留给他们。

只有可怕的审判和烧灭敌对者的烈火等候我们。

这棵你亲手栽种和培育的葡萄树。

只有你像一根毫无用处的树枝，被抛弃在自己的坟墓外。你就像一具遭人践踏的尸体，与丧身刀下的人一同被扔进乱石坑里。

犹大把钱扔在圣殿里，出去上吊自尽了。

坚城荒凉，被人遗弃，如同旷野。牛犊在那里吃草、躺卧，吃光树枝上的叶子。

他无法逃脱黑暗，火焰要烧焦他的嫩枝，上帝口中的气要毁灭他。

至于那些胆怯的、不信的、行为可憎的、杀人的、淫乱的、行邪术的、拜偶像的和所有说谎的，他们的结局是被丢进硫磺火湖里，这就是第二次的死。”
