Remember what I told you:‘ A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Remember what I told you. I said,‘ A slave is not more important than his master.’( John 13:16) If people hated me and tried to hurt me, they will do the same to you. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

不但如此，凡立志在基督耶穌裏敬虔度日的也都要受逼迫。

我實實在在地告訴你們，僕人不能大於主人，差人也不能大於差他的人。

學生不能高過先生；僕人不能高過主人。

以色列家卻不肯聽從你，因為他們不肯聽從我；原來以色列全家是額堅心硬的人。

這猶太人殺了主耶穌和先知，又把我們趕出去。他們不得神的喜悅，且與眾人為敵，

遭逼迫，卻不被丟棄；打倒了，卻不致死亡。

並且勞苦，親手做工。被人咒罵，我們就祝福；被人逼迫，我們就忍受；

我們所傳的有誰信呢？耶和華的膀臂向誰顯露呢？他在耶和華面前生長如嫩芽，像根出於乾地。他無佳形美容；我們看見他的時候，也無美貌使我們羨慕他。他被藐視，被人厭棄；多受痛苦，常經憂患。他被藐視，好像被人掩面不看的一樣；我們也不尊重他。

猶太人又拿起石頭來要打他。

希律和本丟‧彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在這城裏聚集，要攻打你所膏的聖僕耶穌，成就你手和你意旨所預定必有的事。他們恐嚇我們，現在求主鑒察，一面叫你僕人大放膽量講你的道，一面伸出你的手來醫治疾病，並且使神蹟奇事因着你聖僕耶穌的名行出來。」

哪一個先知不是你們祖宗逼迫呢？他們也把預先傳說那義者要來的人殺了；如今你們又把那義者賣了，殺了。你們受了天使所傳的律法，竟不遵守。」眾人聽見這話就極其惱怒，向司提反咬牙切齒。但司提反被聖靈充滿，定睛望天，看見神的榮耀，又看見耶穌站在神的右邊，就說：「我看見天開了，人子站在神的右邊。」眾人大聲喊叫，摀着耳朵，齊心擁上前去，把他推到城外，用石頭打他。作見證的人把衣裳放在一個少年人名叫掃羅的腳前。他們正用石頭打的時候，司提反呼籲主說：「求主耶穌接收我的靈魂！」又跪下大聲喊着說：「主啊，不要將這罪歸於他們！」說了這話，就睡了。掃羅也喜悅他被害。

所以猶太人逼迫耶穌，因為他在安息日做了這事。

我實實在在地告訴你們，人若遵守我的道，就永遠不見死。」

那時，祭司長和法利賽人早已吩咐說，若有人知道耶穌在哪裏，就要報明，好去拿他。

於是他們拿石頭要打他；耶穌卻躲藏，從殿裏出去了。

西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要作毀謗的話柄，叫許多人心裏的意念顯露出來；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。」

法利賽人聽見眾人為耶穌這樣紛紛議論，祭司長和法利賽人就打發差役去捉拿他。

耶和華對撒母耳說：「百姓向你說的一切話，你只管依從；因為他們不是厭棄你，乃是厭棄我，不要我作他們的王。

學生不能高過先生；凡學成了的不過和先生一樣。
