那時，你們在其中行事為人，隨從今世的風俗，順服空中掌權者的首領，就是現今在悖逆之子心中運行的邪靈。我們從前也都在他們中間，放縱肉體的私慾，隨着肉體和心中所喜好的去行，本為可怒之子，和別人一樣。然而，神既有豐富的憐憫，因他愛我們的大愛，當我們死在過犯中的時候，便叫我們與基督一同活過來。你們得救是本乎恩。

我們從前也是無知、悖逆、受迷惑、服事各樣私慾，和宴樂，常存惡毒嫉妒的心，是可恨的，又是彼此相恨。但到了神－我們救主的恩慈和他向人所施的慈愛顯明的時候，他便救了我們；並不是因我們自己所行的義，乃是照他的憐憫，藉着重生的洗和聖靈的更新。聖靈就是神藉着耶穌基督－我們救主厚厚澆灌在我們身上的，好叫我們因他的恩得稱為義，可以憑着永生的盼望成為後嗣。

惟有你們是被揀選的族類，是有君尊的祭司，是聖潔的國度，是屬神的子民，要叫你們宣揚那召你們出黑暗入奇妙光明者的美德。你們從前算不得子民，現在卻作了神的子民；從前未曾蒙憐恤，現在卻蒙了憐恤。親愛的弟兄啊，你們是客旅，是寄居的。我勸你們要禁戒肉體的私慾；這私慾是與靈魂爭戰的。你們在外邦人中，應當品行端正，叫那些毀謗你們是作惡的，因看見你們的好行為，便在鑒察的日子歸榮耀給神。

你們若單愛那愛你們的人，有甚麼可酬謝的呢？就是罪人也愛那愛他們的人。

因為往日隨從外邦人的心意行邪淫、惡慾、醉酒、荒宴、羣飲，並可惡拜偶像的事，時候已經夠了。

那一千年完了，撒但必從監牢裏被釋放，出來要迷惑地上四方的列國，就是歌革和瑪各，叫他們聚集爭戰。他們的人數多如海沙。他們上來遍滿了全地，圍住聖徒的營與蒙愛的城，就有火從天降下，燒滅了他們。

龍向婦人發怒，去與她其餘的兒女爭戰，這兒女就是那守神誡命、為耶穌作見證的。

大龍就是那古蛇，名叫魔鬼，又叫撒但，是迷惑普天下的。牠被摔在地上，牠的使者也一同被摔下去。
