早在创造世界以前，祂已经在基督里拣选了我们，使我们在祂眼中成为圣洁无瑕的人。上帝因为爱我们，就按照祂自己美好的旨意，预定我们借着耶稣基督得到做祂儿女的名分。我们赞美祂奇妙无比的恩典，这恩典是上帝借着祂的爱子赐给我们的。我们借着祂爱子的血蒙救赎，过犯得到赦免，这都是出于祂的洪恩。上帝用各种智慧和聪明把这恩典丰丰富富地赐给我们，照着祂在基督里所定的美好计划叫我们知道祂旨意的奥秘，等所定的时候一到，叫天地万物一同归在基督的名下。我们也在基督里被拣选成为祂的子民。这都是按自己旨意行万事的上帝预先定下的计划，

那时，你们随从今世的风俗，顺服在空中掌权的魔鬼，就是如今在一切叛逆上帝之人心中运行的邪灵。我们以前也在他们当中随从罪恶的本性，放纵肉体和心中的私欲，与其他人一样本是惹上帝发怒的人。然而上帝有丰富的怜悯，祂深爱我们，尽管我们死在过犯之中，祂仍然使我们和基督一同活了过来。你们得救是因为上帝的恩典。

从前我们也愚蠢、悖逆、易受迷惑，受各种私欲和享乐的驱使，心里充满了嫉妒和恶念，令人憎恶，也彼此憎恨。但我们的救主上帝向人彰显了祂的恩慈和仁爱，借着重生之洗和圣灵的更新拯救了我们，这并非因为我们有义行，而是因为祂的怜悯。上帝借着我们的救主耶稣基督把圣灵丰丰富富地浇灌在我们身上。这样，我们既然靠着祂的恩典而被称为义人，就可以成为后嗣，有永生的盼望。

但你们是蒙拣选的族群，是君尊的祭司，是圣洁的国度，是上帝的子民，因此你们可以宣扬上帝的美德。祂曾呼召你们离开黑暗，进入祂奇妙的光明。从前你们不是上帝的子民，现在却做了祂的子民；从前你们未蒙怜悯，现在却蒙了怜悯。亲爱的弟兄姊妹，你们是客旅，是寄居的，我劝你们要禁戒与灵魂为敌的邪情私欲。你们在异教徒当中要品行端正。这样，尽管他们毁谤你们是作恶的人，但看见你们的好行为，也会在主来的日子把荣耀归给上帝。

如果你们只爱那些爱你们的人，有什么功劳呢？就是罪人也会这样做。

你们从前长期沉溺于异教徒的嗜好——淫乱、纵欲、醉酒、狂欢、宴乐和可憎的偶像崇拜。

那一千年过后，撒旦会从被监禁的地方得到释放。它会再度欺骗天下各国，就是歌革和玛各，叫他们召集军队准备打仗，军队的数目多如海沙。他们倾巢而出，布满大地，将圣徒的阵营和上帝所爱的城团团围住。那时烈火从天而降，烧灭了他们。

巨龙大怒，转而攻击她的其他儿女，就是那些坚守上帝的诫命、为耶稣做见证的人。

它和它的天使都一同从天上被摔到地上。巨龙就是那古蛇，又名魔鬼或撒旦，也就是那迷惑全人类的。
