故基督之臨世也、則曰：『牲牷與獻禮、皆非爾所喜；爾已夙為我、妥備一形體。燔祭贖罪祭、非爾所樂意；吾曰：吾來矣、經中有明示；吁嗟吾天主、吾願行爾旨。』首節所謂「牲牷」、「祭禮」、「燔祭」、「贖罪祭」、「皆非爾所喜」者、悉屬律法之事也。繼乃曰：「我來」「行爾旨；」是則前者廢而後者立矣。

願將爾天書。

耶穌謂伯鐸祿曰『收刃入鞘、父所賜我之爵、可不飲乎？』

而致景仰於耶穌乎？耶穌者、乃吾人信德之金聲玉振也。曩者彼為前途不可思議之神樂、而甘嘗垢辱、毅然肩負苦架。今則安坐天主寶位之右矣。爾等當細心體驗、耶穌當時如何忍受群小之拂逆、庶幾不致灰心而自餒。

言畢偕諸徒出過翠柏澗入山園。耶穌常偕其徒遊此、故奸徒茹答斯亦稔其地。時茹答斯乃領兵士一隊、與司祭長法利塞人所派人員、提燈炬、執武器而至。耶穌夙知諸事之必臨於身、乃出而謂之曰：『爾等覓誰？』

起矣！吾儕行矣！鬻我者近矣！』
