吾知厥命即是永生；故予所言、惟述父之所言而已矣。』

認識你獨一無二的真神、並且認識你所差遣的耶穌基督：這就是永生。

西門彼得回答他說：『主啊，我們要去歸誰呢？你有永生之話語啊！

使人活的乃是靈；肉體無濟於事；我所對你們說的話語是靈，是生命。

但這些事記下來、是要使你們信耶穌是基督、上帝的兒子，並且信了、使你們在他名內得生命。

然而我蒙了憐恤，正因為耶穌基督要在我這罪魁上證顯他萬分的恆忍，好給將來信靠他而得永生的人做標本。

我們知道上帝的兒子已經來到，並且將理解的心給了我們，使我們認得出那「真實」者；我們也確是在那「真實」者裏面，在他兒子耶穌基督裏面：這就是真神；這就是真而永的生命。
