何不以此膏鬻金三十以濟貧乎、

曰、何不售此膏、得金三十、以濟貧乎、

何不售此膏、得三百第拿流約銀三十兩以濟貧乎、

責曰：『何不售此膏、得三百銀錢、以濟貧者乎？』

“ Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”

“ Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?”

“ That perfume was worth a year’s wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor.”

Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred shillings, and given to the poor?

“ Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor?”

“ Why wasn’t this ointment sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?”

Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys.

But there were some who were indignant among themselves, and said,“ Why was this fragrant oil wasted?For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.

So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him,“ You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying,“ Why this waste?For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”

Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”

Saying:“ When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat? Making the ephah small and the shekel large, Falsifying the scales by deceit,

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye?

And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying,‘ Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’

Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

“ Who is there even among you who would shut the doors, So that you would not kindle fire on My altar in vain? I have no pleasure in you,” Says the Lord of hosts,“ Nor will I accept an offering from your hands.For from the rising of the sun, even to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; In every place incense shall be offered to My name, And a pure offering; For My name shall be great among the nations,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ But you profane it, In that you say,‘ The table of the Lord is defiled; And its fruit, its food, is contemptible.’You also say,‘ Oh, what a weariness!’ And you sneer at it,” Says the Lord of hosts.“ And you bring the stolen, the lame, and the sick; Thus you bring an offering! Should I accept this from your hand?” Says the Lord.

But he said,“ You are idle! Idle! Therefore you say,‘ Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’
