And He said,“ To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that‘ Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.’

And Jesus said,“ For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.”

so that‘ seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them.’”

Who is blind but My servant, Or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as he who is perfect, And blind as the LORD’s servant?Seeing many things, but you do not observe; Opening the ears, but he does not hear.”

Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled.

I said,“ Lord, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”

Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

For the Lord has poured out on you The spirit of deep sleep, And has closed your eyes, namely, the prophets; And He has covered your heads, namely, the seers.

“ I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him.

He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

“ Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your backslidings.”“ Indeed we do come to You, For You are the Lord our God.

I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will also lead him, And restore comforts to him And to his mourners.“ I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,” Says the Lord,“ And I will heal him.”

Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day.

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

saying,‘ Go to this people and say:“ Hearing you will hear, and shall not understand; And seeing you will see, and not perceive;

‘ Hear this now, O foolish people, Without understanding, Who have eyes and see not, And who have ears and hear not:

Then I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

“ Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.Just as it is written:“ God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”And David says:“ Let their table become a snare and a trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them.Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, and bow down their back always.”I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them,“ Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel went out with boldness.

“ And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel.

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

And the Lord said,‘ Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

For they had not understood about the loaves, because their heart was hardened.

And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

He defeated many nations And slew mighty kings—Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan—And gave their land as a heritage, A heritage to Israel His people.Your name, O Lord, endures forever, Your fame, O Lord, throughout all generations.For the Lord will judge His people, And He will have compassion on His servants.The idols of the nations are silver and gold, The work of men’s hands.They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have, but they do not see;They have ears, but they do not hear; Nor is there any breath in their mouths.Those who make them are like them; So is everyone who trusts in them.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh which I have put in your hand. But I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go.

Lord, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see. But they will see and be ashamed For their envy of people; Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.
