約翰又見證說：「我看到聖靈好像鴿子從天上降臨，停留在他身上。

人們要述說你行可畏之事的大能；我也要講述你的偉大。他們要傳揚你美善至尊的名，也要頌唱你的公義。

看見這事的那人做了見證——他的見證是真實的，並且他知道他所說的是真實的——這是為了要你們也信。

法利賽人對他說：「你為自己做見證，你的見證是無效的。」耶穌回答：「即使我為自己做見證，我的見證也是有效的，因為我知道我從哪裡來，往哪裡去；而你們卻不知道我從哪裡來，往哪裡去。

「我將從父那裡派遣慰助者來，他就是從父而來的真理的靈。他來的時候，將為我做見證。並且你們也要做見證，因為你們從一開始就與我在一起。

有一大群猶太人知道耶穌在那裡，就來了。他們不僅是為了耶穌的緣故，也是為了看拉撒路，就是耶穌使他從死人中復活的那個人。

我知道你總是在垂聽我，但我這麼說，是為了這些站在周圍的民眾，好讓他們相信是你差派了我。」

約翰把神的話語和有關耶穌基督的見證，凡是他所看到的，都見證出來。

我們既然接受人的見證，神的見證就更應該接受了，因為這是神的見證，就是神為他的兒子所做的見證。那信神兒子的，就有這見證在他裡面；那不信神的，就把神當做說謊者，因為他不相信神為自己的兒子所做的見證。這見證就是：神把永恆的生命賜給了我們，並且這生命在他兒子裡面。那有了神兒子的，就有了這生命；那沒有神兒子的，就沒有這生命。

來到瑪麗亞那裡的許多猶太人，看到耶穌所做的事，就信了耶穌。然而，其中有些人到法利賽人那裡去，向他們報告耶穌所行的事。

我看到了，就見證：這一位就是神的兒子。」

那些在瑪麗亞家裡安慰她的猶太人，看見她匆忙起身出去，以為她要到墳墓那裡去哭，就跟著她。

以下是約翰的見證。那時候，耶路撒冷的那些猶太人派了一些祭司和利未人到約翰那裡去問他：「你是誰？」
