猶太人的逾越節快到了，耶穌上耶路撒冷去。

逾越節前六天，耶穌來到拉撒路所在的伯大尼，就是他使拉撒路從死人中復活的地方。

那時猶太人的逾越節快到了。

實際上，如果山羊和公牛的血，以及母牛犢的灰，灑在那些汙穢的人身上，能使他們分別為聖、肉身潔淨，更何況基督的血呢！基督藉著永恆的聖靈，將自己毫無瑕疵地獻給神，他的血難道不能潔淨我們的良心脫離致死的行為，使我們事奉永生的神嗎？

過兩天就是逾越節和除酵節了。祭司長們和經文士們在圖謀怎樣用詭計拘捕耶穌，把他殺掉。

他們把耶穌從該亞法那裡帶到總督府，那時是清晨。他們為了不被汙穢，能吃逾越節的晚餐，就沒有進入總督府。

耶和華啊，我要洗淨雙手表明清白，還要繞著你的祭壇而行，

你們要親近神，神就會親近你們。你們這些罪人哪，當使你們的手潔淨！心懷二意的人哪，當使你們的心純潔！

逾越節前，耶穌知道他離開這世界回到父那裡去的時候到了。他一直愛世界上那些屬自己的人，並且愛他們到底。

你們上去過節吧，我現在不上去，因為我的時候還沒有到。」說了這些話，耶穌仍然留在加利利地區。不過當他的弟弟們上去過節以後，他也上去了，但沒有公開，像是悄悄去的。

這樣，一個人應當省察自己，然後才吃這餅、喝這杯。

這些事以後，猶太人的一個節日到了，耶穌就上耶路撒冷去。

撒母耳回答：「是為平安！我是來向耶和華獻祭的。你們要使自己分別為聖，與我一起參加祭祀。」撒母耳也把耶西和他的兒子們分別為聖，邀請他們參加祭祀。
