這些事以後，耶穌走遍加利利。原來他不願意在猶太地區往來，因為那些猶太人想要殺害他。

因為人不會又想要出名，又在隱祕中做事。你既然要做這些事，就把自己顯明給世人看吧！」

耶穌又前往約旦河對岸，到約翰當初施洗的地方，住在那裡。

耶穌知道，法利賽人聽說他收門徒和施洗比約翰更多。其實不是耶穌親自施洗，而是他的門徒們施洗。於是耶穌離開猶太地區，又前往加利利地區。

耶穌回答他：「我一向公開地對世人講話。我總是在會堂和聖殿，就是所有猶太人聚集的地方教導人。我沒有在隱祕中講過什麼。

不過當他的弟弟們上去過節以後，他也上去了，但沒有公開，像是悄悄去的。

過了整整兩年，在以法蓮附近的巴力哈索，有人為押沙龍剪羊毛，押沙龍就邀請了所有的王子。

只是沒有人公開地講論他的事，因為怕那些猶太人。
