正如人子之來、非以役人、乃為人役、且捨其生以為眾人之贖焉。』

蓋天主使耶穌為贖罪而犧牲、俾信賴其聖血者得蒙赦宥、亦所以彰其正義耳。吾人賴天主之寬容、宿罪全銷、重負頓釋。於是天主之正義、昌明於斯世。是天主使吾人信耶穌而成義、亦所以自彰其義也。

使我無愛德、而具先知之靈賦、心通一切玄妙、一切知識、甚至有移山之信、則亦浮華無實耳。

時既成熟、天主乃遣其聖子、使之出於婦人之腹、而生於律法之下、庶幾諸凡生於律法之下者、悉蒙拯贖、而吾人皆獲得兒女身分。

蓋基督亦曾為眾人之罪而死矣。彼以義者之身、而為諸不義者舍命、欲引吾人歸順天主耳。然彼之肉身雖被處死、而其神靈則生、

正猶父之識予、予之識父也、予且為吾羊舍身致命焉。

夫以毫無罪孽之基督、天主竟使其為吾人之故、成為罪孽、亦欲令吾人因基督之功、而成天主之正義云耳。
