He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at Him, no appearance that we should desire Him.He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

“ But his subjects hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying,‘ We don’t want this man to rule over us!’

He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony.

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit; as your ancestors did, so do you.Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They even killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.

“ Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘ What should I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.’“ But when the tenant farmers saw him, they discussed it among themselves and said,‘ This is the heir. Let’s kill him, so the inheritance will be ours!’So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.“ Therefore, what will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

He replied,“ I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Then Paul and Barnabas boldly said:“ It was necessary that God’s message be spoken to you first. But since you reject it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles!

You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors, saying to Abraham, And all the families of the earth will be blessed through your offspring.God raised up His Servant and sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.”

For I say that the Messiah became a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises to the fathers,

The ancestors are theirs, and from them, by physical descent, came the Messiah, who is God over all, praised forever. Amen.
