“ Beware of your friends; do not trust anyone in your clan. For every one of them is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer.

Be on guard against your friends. Do not trust the members of your own family. Every one of them cheats. Every friend tells lies.

Let everyone beware of his neighbor, and put no trust in any brother, for every brother is a deceiver, and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.

“ Beware of your neighbor! Don’t even trust your brother! For brother takes advantage of brother, and friend slanders friend.

Everyone has to be on guard against his friend. Don’t trust any brother, for every brother will certainly deceive, and every friend spread slander.

They are all grievous revolters, going about with slanders; they are brass and iron: they all of them deal corruptly.

They speak falsehood every one with his neighbor: With flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.Jehovah will cut off all flattering lips, The tongue that speaketh great things;

He that hateth dissembleth with his lips; But he layeth up deceit within him:When he speaketh fair, believe him not; For there are seven abominations in his heart:

Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah.

He that hideth hatred is of lying lips; And he that uttereth a slander is a fool.

And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for thou hast striven with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee; even they have cried aloud after thee: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto thee.

And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing.And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;

A man that beareth false witness against his neighbor Is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law:

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you;

that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in the matter: because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.

But ye shall be delivered up even by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.

Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;

A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.

There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:

Wickedness is in the midst thereof: Oppression and guile depart not from its streets.For it was not an enemy that reproached me; Then I could have borne it: Neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; Then I would have hid myself from him:

Slanderous men have been in thee to shed blood; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness.

And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
