Therefore I said,“ Look away from me, I will weep bitterly; Do not labor to comfort me Because of the plundering of the daughter of my people.”

And suddenly, one having the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me,“ My Lord, because of the vision my sorrows have overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength.For how can this servant of my Lord talk with you, my Lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.”

When I say,‘ My bed will comfort me, My couch will ease my complaint,’Then You scare me with dreams And terrify me with visions,

When I heard, my body trembled; My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness entered my bones; And I trembled in myself, That I might rest in the day of trouble. When he comes up to the people, He will invade them with his troops.

We have heard the report of it; Our hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, Pain as of a woman in labor.

Woe is me for my hurt! My wound is severe. But I say,“ Truly this is an infirmity, And I must bear it.”My tent is plundered, And all my cords are broken; My children have gone from me, And they are no more. There is no one to pitch my tent anymore, Or set up my curtains.For the shepherds have become dull-hearted, And have not sought the Lord; Therefore they shall not prosper, And all their flocks shall be scattered.Behold, the noise of the report has come, And a great commotion out of the north country, To make the cities of Judah desolate, a den of jackals.
